For more than 30 years, art has been at the heart of my life and work.

Originally from the Netherlands, I moved to the Côte d’Azur in 2005, where I have since been living and working as a contemporary visual artist. My work is strongly inspired by the Mediterranean light and the colours of the Côte d’Azur and Provence: soft pinks, terracotta, orange, sandy and earthy tones. Red is often a recurring thread in my work ,sometimes subtle, sometimes powerful and expressive.

I primarily work with acrylic and combine paint with natural materials such as wood and jute. By layering colour, texture and materials, I create paintings with a tactile, almost sculptural quality and a subtle three-dimensional effect. Alongside contemporary and abstract work, I also create faces and portraits, exploring expression and human emotion.

My work is modern, warm and versatile. It is created to stand on its own, but also to become part of an environment. My paintings are regularly integrated into projects by architects and interior professionals and are sold and collected internationally. My background in interior and concept development has given me a strong understanding of colour, proportion, materials and space, knowledge that continues to influence the way I approach my art.

Art beyond the studio

My work within the art world extends beyond my own paintings. As part of TAC ,The Art Collective Côte d’Azur, I organise and support exhibitions and art projects, bringing artists, venues and audiences together.

I am also the creator and curator of the Art Agenda Provence for the Hans in the Provence e-magazine. Each month, I select and present exhibitions and art events taking place across Provence and the Côte d’Azur. The Art Agenda is published in the e-magazine and shared with its readers through the monthly newsletter. It has grown into a successful and continuously developing part of the publication.

Today, my focus is fully on art: creating, exhibiting, connecting artists, developing art projects and making art more visible.

For me, art is not simply something to look at. It is something that can transform a space, create an atmosphere, evoke an emotion and connect people.
