For more than 30 years, art has been at the heart of my life and work.

Originally from the Netherlands, I moved to the Côte d’Azur in 2005, where I have since been living and working as a contemporary visual artist. My work is strongly inspired by the Mediterranean light and the colours of the Côte d’Azur and Provence: soft pinks, terracotta, orange, sandy and earthy tones. Red is often a recurring thread in my work, sometimes subtle, sometimes powerful and expressive.

I primarily work with acrylic and combine paint with natural materials such as wood and jute. By layering colour, texture and materials, I create paintings with a tactile, almost sculptural quality and a subtle three-dimensional effect. Alongside contemporary and abstract work, I also create faces and portraits, exploring expression and human emotion.
