Refund and Returns Policy

Last updated: 21 September 2026

Every work sold on this website is an original painting, created and signed by Karin van Os and produced in a single copy. We want you to be entirely happy with the work you receive, and this page explains exactly what happens if you are not.

1. Your right to cancel

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you have 14 calendar days from the day you (or a third party you designate) take physical possession of the artwork to cancel your purchase, without giving any reason and without penalty.

To exercise this right, simply tell us before the 14 days expire, by email to info@karinvanos-concepts.com or by post to Karin van Os, 5 Chemin des Loriots, 83600 Les Adrets-de-l’Estérel, France. A clear statement of your decision is enough; no particular form is required. We will acknowledge your cancellation in writing.

2. Works that cannot be returned

The right of cancellation does not apply to works that have been commissioned or made to your specifications, or clearly personalised for you. This is set out in Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code. Any commission will be confirmed in writing before work begins, and this exclusion will be stated at that time.

3. Returning the work

Please return the work within 14 days of telling us you wish to cancel.

Because these are original artworks, the return must be handled with the same care as the outbound delivery. The work must be returned in its original condition and, wherever possible, in its original packaging or crate. We strongly recommend using a specialised art transport company and insuring the work for its full purchase price. We will gladly put you in touch with the carrier who delivered it.

The direct cost of returning the work is borne by you. If the work is damaged in transit on its way back because it was inadequately packed, its loss in value may be deducted from your refund.

4. Your refund

We will refund the full purchase price, together with the standard outbound delivery cost, within 14 days of receiving the work back, or of receiving proof that you have sent it, whichever comes first.

The refund is made using the same payment method you used for the original transaction, unless you expressly agree otherwise. It costs you nothing. If you chose a more expensive delivery option than our standard service, we refund the standard cost only.

5. If the work arrives damaged

Every work is professionally packed and fully insured in transit. If the outer packaging shows any sign of damage on arrival, please note this precisely on the carrier’s delivery document before signing, and photograph the packaging and the work before unpacking further.

Then contact us within 3 working days at info@karinvanos-concepts.com with those photographs. We will handle the insurance claim with the carrier ourselves. You will be offered a full refund, since the work is unique and cannot be replaced.

6. Legal guarantees

Independently of this policy, you benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity (Articles L217-3 and following of the French Consumer Code) and the guarantee against hidden defects (Articles 1641 and following of the French Civil Code). Nothing on this page limits those rights.

7. Certificate of authenticity

Each work is supplied with a signed certificate of authenticity. If you return a work, please return the certificate with it.

8. Questions

If anything here is unclear, or if you would like to discuss a work before buying it, please write to info@karinvanos-concepts.com or call +33 6 80 98 62 73. We would always rather talk it through first.
