1. Who you are buying from
These terms govern every sale made through karinvanos-concepts.com. The seller is Karin van Os, artist, 5 Chemin des Loriots, 83600 Les Adrets-de-l’Estérel, France (SIRET: [to be completed]), reachable at info@karinvanos-concepts.com and +33 6 80 98 62 73.
Placing an order means you accept these terms. They are available at all times on this page, and we recommend saving or printing a copy.
2. The works
Every painting offered on this website is an original work, created and signed by Karin van Os, and produced in a single copy. There are no editions, prints or reproductions. Once a work is sold, it cannot be bought again.
Each listing states the title, dimensions, materials and technique. Photographs are taken as faithfully as possible, but colour, texture and scale can only ever be approximated on a screen. Small variations between the photograph and the physical work are inherent to handmade art and are not a defect. If precision matters to you, ask us for additional photographs or a video before ordering — we are glad to provide them.
3. Prices
Prices are shown in euros and are the final price of the work. VAT is not applicable under Article 293 B of the French General Tax Code.
Delivery is charged separately and is shown at checkout before payment. For destinations outside Europe, delivery is quoted individually before any order is placed.
We may change prices at any time, but the price that applies to your order is the one displayed when you place it.
4. Placing an order
You select a work, add it to your basket, enter your billing and delivery details, choose a delivery method, and confirm payment. Before confirming, you see a summary of your order and can correct any error.
Confirming payment forms a binding contract. You will receive an order confirmation by email. If you do not receive it, please check your spam folder and then contact us.
5. Availability
Because each work exists only once, a work is reserved only when payment has been completed. In the rare event that a work becomes unavailable between your order and its despatch — for example because it sold simultaneously at an exhibition — we will tell you immediately and refund you in full within 14 days. No other compensation is due.
6. Payment
Payment is due in full at the time of the order. We accept the payment methods shown at checkout, processed by our payment provider on their own secure infrastructure. Your card details are never transmitted to or stored by this website.
Your order is processed once payment is confirmed. If payment is refused, the order is cancelled automatically.
7. Ownership and risk
Ownership of the work passes to you once payment has been received in full. Risk of loss or damage passes to you when the work is delivered to you or to a carrier you appointed yourself. Where we appoint the carrier, the work remains at our risk and fully insured until it reaches you.

9. Cancellation and returns
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have 14 days from receiving the work to cancel your purchase. The procedure, the exclusions for commissioned work, and how refunds are made are set out in full in our Refund and Returns Policy, which forms part of these terms.
10. Legal guarantees
You benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity (Articles L217-3 and following of the French Consumer Code) and the guarantee against hidden defects (Articles 1641 and following of the French Civil Code). The natural ageing of materials, and the visible brushwork, texture and irregularity inherent to a handmade painting, are not defects.
11. Copyright
Buying an original work transfers ownership of the physical painting. It does not transfer copyright. Karin van Os retains all reproduction rights and the right to photograph, exhibit, publish and reproduce the work for portfolio, press, catalogue and promotional purposes.
You may not reproduce the work commercially, make prints or derivative works from it, or use its image for commercial purposes, without prior written permission.
12. Certificate of authenticity
Each work is supplied with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist, stating the title, year, dimensions, materials and unique character of the work.
13. Care of the work
Original acrylic paintings combined with natural materials such as wood and jute should be kept away from direct sunlight, damp and strong heat sources. Dust gently with a dry, soft brush. Never use water, solvents or cleaning products. We are happy to advise on hanging and conservation.
14. Liability
Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the work. We are not liable for indirect loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death, personal injury, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
15. Events outside our control
We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including strikes, carrier failure, natural events, fire, or restrictions imposed by a public authority. We will tell you promptly and agree a solution with you.
16. Personal data
Personal data collected in connection with your order is processed as described in our Privacy Policy.
17. Disputes
If you have a complaint, please contact us first at info@karinvanos-concepts.com. We answer every message and would always rather resolve things directly.
If we cannot reach an agreement, you may refer the matter free of charge to a consumer ombudsman, as provided by Article L612-1 of the French Consumer Code. The ombudsman’s details are given in our Legal Notice. You may also use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
18. Applicable law
These terms are governed by French law. This does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.
